Mahadev challenges Kartikeya to fight with one of the Shivgans. The Shivgan defeats Kartikeya, who realises his mistake and apologises. After severe penance, Tarakasur receives a boon from Brahma. Tarakasur and Kartikeya’s armies engages in battle.
