The foundation stone of the country's new parliament building was laid. Bhumi Pujan was performed by Prime Minister Narendera Modi with a formal chant. Construction will be completed by 2022 at a cost of Rs 971 crore. The new Parliament House will be an important part of a self-sufficient India.
