Sudha is alarmed when the astrologer warns her of bad times ahead for Vettaiyan if he consummates his marriage with Meenakshi. Meenakshi is shocked to learn about this, and readily agrees to Sudha's request of doing a puja and keeping a fast to counter the unlucky horoscope.
