Vadivu taunts Andal and Azhagar. She declares that Azhagar should earn on his own to feed his wife and that no one in the family should help them thereafter. Azhagar borrows money from Thenu to buy food for Aandaal. Azhagar asks Vadivu and Murugesa for his share from their property.
